Mobile Phones in Schools Policy

In 2023, the Minns Government delivered on an election commitment to improve students’ learning and social development. From Term 4, 2023 NSW public secondary school students were banned from using mobile phones at school.

The ban on mobile phones applies during class, recess and lunch times, as is the case in NSW public primary schools. Students will be allowed to carry their phones while travelling to and from school.

This new policy has been implemented to increase focus and learning in classrooms, remove distractions and promote positive social interactions. The implementation of this policy is a requirement under the Students’ Use of Mobile Phones in Schools Policy.

At Shalvey Campus, we will be following the 'Off and Away All Day' strategy.
