For independent travellers

Talk safe travel with your high-school-aged child including:

Travelling to and from school

Students are expected to behave in a responsible and sensible manner on their way to and from school.  Students are readily identified with the school whilst in uniform. 

Opal Cards

Students who currently have a School Opal Card will keep their cards for travel in 2020. These cards will be automatically deactivated for school holidays and then reactivated for school travel in term one.

School Opal Cards only need to be updated when a student:

  • changes address or changes school or campus
  • progresses from Year 6 to Year 7
  • requests an additional pass as a result of a new shared parental responsibility situation.

Subsidised school travel

Transport for NSW provides subsidies to assist school students.

  • The School Student Transport Scheme provides eligible students with free or subsidised travel on public transport between home and school.
  • The School Drive Subsidy may help towards the costs of driving children to school if you live in an area where there is no public transport.
